Semire Yekta

Semire Yekta is a doctoral researcher at Goldsmiths, University of London. After completing her Masters (MSc) in Criminology at Leeds Beckett University, she taught first year undergraduate students on Sociology of Crime and Deviance. Alongside her PhD, she also worked in e-commerce risk and fraud management. Her years of experience in online fraud and critical insider knowledge and perspectives on automated and manual fraud detection practices have been crucial in designing her current study. Her PhD examines how online fraud is constructed through social practices, technological and organisational relations. Semire’s research interests are in cybercrime, online fraud and big data.
