Cassandra began her Criminology PhD program at the University of South Florida in 2016 following the completion of a B.S and a M.S. in Criminal Justice Sciences (with a minor in Information Systems) at Illinois State University. She served four and a half as a Security Forces Journeyman in the United States Air Force, where she developed her interest in law enforcement and international issues. She is also scheduled to complete a graduate certificate in Digital Forensics from USF in December of 2017. Her primary areas of research interests are the role of technology in both the commission of crime and law enforcement response, cybercrime, and justice issues faced by sexual and gender minorities.
